Web site for Travel Agency
The travel agency will be specialized in in-coming tourism to Italy. We will be offering package deals as well as hotel, b&b, villa, apartment rentals.
CMS – A completely dynamic site managed through a content management system so that the user can have total access to all information on a menu with predefined choices or freely by text. The website should also permit its users details or information by being able to interact with the system by generic request forms or specific forms based on the different types of structures (hotels, etc.)
Structure of the website.
The website should be able to be viewed and used on the most common browsers on the market.
The programming language should be php/mysql in order to be able to hold a large amount of data.
The graphic layout with css.
The whole site should be able to be managed through a control panel for inserting, modifying, and cancelling data of the single structures (hotels, b&b's, etc.)
The website should be in English and Italian.
The Characteristics of the Website
Homepage will be divided into four main parts –
Header – with logo, flash animation, horizontal menu (company, who we are, where we are, database structure, contacts, last minutes, etc. ) all of which can be managed by a control panel.
Right side column – with box containing last minute travel, access (search) to information inside the site (by text, keyword, quick reservation form, banners)
Left side column – access/search website by area, category, price range, number of beds, amenities, etc.
Center Main Body – Presentation boxes (abstract – small photos, prices ranges and flyer for last minute offers) for a number of properties (number to be decided) chosen by the system randomly from those in the data base. The frequency of their appearance can be managed by a numeric algorithm (from one to four)
A Footer – with a repetition of the horizontal menu with additional information regarding privacy, general information, site map
Every structure (hotel, villa, etc.) will have a mini-site, managed by every user (property/structure owner) with their own password and user name with –
•Descriptions of the structure and list of amenities/services available
•Price lists and eventual offers/last minutes (expiration date may be defined in the administration page.
•Photo gallery – (all should be able to be enlarged – lightbox system)
•Request availability form e direct reservations
•Map with structure location (integration GoogleMaps)
•Availability Calendar
•Guestbook (comment to be approved by the structures)
Access Level
Access should be by a Control Panel using a password and user name with the possibility to access –
•Administration Area – to check and modify all of the data relative to all of the structures in the data base and of the institutional pages of the website.
•User Area – to check and change data of the single structures

The main admin. area should be divided –
•Website contents - The page contents, editing of institutional pages.
•Last minute
•Management of types of structures, areas, etc.
•User management – for creating user names and passwords for the individual users

Should be able to have access to all of the structure's individual information and be able to decide to make it “live” or not.
