For our wedding present instead of asking for things like bed linen, teaspoons and other useless crap, we want out own bespoke bicycles. The main part of the site will be for wedding guests to pledge components of the bikes, for which we will have a full list, including photos and prices. The guest will log on (some very simple authentication required) and select the part of the bike or bikes that they wish to buy. As people pledge, the bikes will take shape on the website. We would like to avoid flash as we are both open source fascists - so ajax would be preferable. So this should be a simple and fun little project for someone with a day or so to spare - the cuter the site the better!
